Cody White Biography

Cody was born and raised in the high desert planes of southern Idaho and was a student for an artist Robert Moore for 10 years. In pursuing an apprenticeship with Robert Moore he learned an extended knowledge of all the appearances and actions of being a full time artist and has been greatly blessed with the opportunity to be influenced by Robert’s guidance.

Now being a full time artist in his own studio in Heyburn Idaho, Cody paints prolifically, ranging from majestic mountains and aspens to figures and wildlife. Cody learned the art and beauty of impressionism by relating the impressionistic experience as a conversation where the artist and viewer can both come together and agree on sense and feeling of the painting. Cody’s vision and hopes with his high energy and vibrant paintings is to encourage viewers to experience the beauty of life and the senses that God has given us. Cody is deeply inspired by the immediacy and honesty of Russian impressionism and the Color harmony of French pointillism which he tries to continually communicate in his paintings; he is inspired by the idea that “less is more”. Always pushing and striving for a deeper understanding, Cody’s direction and vision for his paintings is to be more refined in conveying the love and passion of the artistic sensory experience by celebrating intensity, color harmony, clear value separation and thick textured paint.
